Privacy notice

This notice covers the Add a memory form on Welcome Back Home memorial pages and the visit to the pages themselves. Last updated September 20, 2026.

What the form collects

When you share a memory, the form sends us:

  • Your name and email address, so Welcome Back Home can reply or ask a question about what you sent.
  • Your relationship to the veteran (family, friend, served together, or other).
  • The story you write and any photos, voice recordings, or video you attach.
  • Your confirmation that you have the right to share the material and that Welcome Back Home may publish it after review.
  • The time the form was opened and sent, and the network address the submission came from. These are used only to stop spam.

There is no account and no login. Nothing is collected until you press Send.

Who sees it

  • Welcome Back Home, who reviews every submission and decides what appears on the memorial page.
  • Junious Digital Labs, who builds and hosts the platform for Welcome Back Home. A copy of each submission reaches their review inbox so a technical problem with a submission can be fixed.

Your email address and network address are never shown on a memorial page. If Welcome Back Home publishes your story or photos, they may credit you by the name you gave; tell them in the story if you would rather stay unnamed.

How long it is kept

Family submissions and photos are kept on JDL's server for the life of the hosting plan, backed up daily for 14 days, and exported or deleted at the Client's written request within 10 business days. The scan log stores only a salted daily hash of the visitor address, never the address itself.

Submissions are stored on the server and copied every night; fourteen daily copies are kept. A submission that is not published is still kept for the record unless you ask for it to be deleted.

How to ask for a copy or deletion

Write to Welcome Back Home through WelcomeBackHomeVet.org or to Junious Digital Labs at inquire@juniouslabs.digital. Say which memorial and the name and email you used on the form. Your submission is exported to you or deleted within 10 business days. Material that has already been published on a page is taken down at the same time if you ask.

No sale of data

Nothing you send is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers. There is no analytics vendor on these pages.

Cookies

None beyond what hosting needs. The site sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising or analytics scripts. The hosting provider in front of the site (Cloudflare) may set a cookie needed to serve the page securely; it does not identify you to us.

Scanning a code

When a code is scanned, the visit is counted so Welcome Back Home knows which memorials are visited. The count stores the date, the code, and a salted daily hash of the visitor address, never the address itself and never a name.

Children

The form is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to send the memory for you.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. The retention statement is the same one given to Welcome Back Home in writing.
